What You Will Learn

The era of electric products is coming, and this seminar will provide insights, for manufacturers, on how to bring fleet management into electric Class III lift trucks using battery chargers! This presentation will provide best practices on how a battery charger, installed on a pack, can collect charging information that could serve as basic information about the lift truck to a fleet manager. Information collected include monitoring the pack when the pack is not in use over a weekend or longer; Providing a trend in charging to monitor the general battery conditions; or logging a history of charging to understand whether the pack is. This seminar will also cover ways in which the battery charger can enable IoT in a manufacturer’s product for future growth in fleet management. You will learn tips to incorporate fleet management for an electric Class III lift truck using the following components. • A battery charger with data collection abilities. Ideally CAN or other communications to send the data out. • 24V-powered telematics module with WiFi (if WiFi available at the charging area) or cellular data that can read the charger data over CAN. • Cloud-based or local fleet management software
