Komatsu Forklift’s BX50 Series Forklift Wins Highest Retained Value Award for 2017 from EquipmentWatch

Komatsu Forklift U.S.A.

Rolling Meadows, Ill. – February 23rd, 2017 – Komatsu Forklift is very proud to announce that their BX50 Series forklift has been awarded the honor of Highest Retained Value from EquipmentWatch in the Forklift category. The BX50 joins two other Komatsu machines, the GD655 Motor Grader and the WA320 Wheel Loader as the machines in their respective categories that retained the highest residual value over the past five years of data. The Komatsu Forklift BX50 Series, since 2010 has been built in Komatsu America’s Newberry Manufacturing Operation, in Newberry, SC. “It’s a testament to the quality that has been designed into the product, and the quality of manufacturing at our
Newberry Manufacturing Operation”, said Wes Olczyk, V.P. of Sales & Marketing at Komatsu Forklift U.S.A.

“Komatsu is very proud of the BX50 family and the hard work from so many people that has allowed us to achieve this recognition of highest retained value against so many competitors in the forklift category.” In creating the 2017 Highest Retained Value Awards program, EquipmentWatch analysts considered 12,536 models from their valuation database which were then narrowed down to 156 series from 36 brands. Once the finalists were established, residual values were calculated at the series level by leveraging a database covering more than $412 billion in market activity in-order-to identify the winner in each product category.

“The Highest Retained Value Award is indicative of excellence across a manufacturing organization,” said Garrett Schemmel, Vice President of EquipmentWatch. “Product quality has the most obvious impact on an asset’s performance on the secondary market, but residual values are also highly impacted by brand affinity and fair original pricing. A manufacturer must excel on all three fronts in-order-to gain recognition as a Highest Retained Value Award winner.”

The Komatsu BX50 forklift is available in 4,000 thru 6,500 lbs. of capacity and with lift heights up to 296”. This award-winning model family features several unique industry leading features:
  • Dual floating structure for greatly reduced vibration felt by the forklift operator and the machine’s critical components
  • EZ-Lift tandem pump hydraulic system for increased hydraulic efficiency and improved truck control in tight maneuvering situations
  • Directional flow counterweight designed to push hot air and engine exhaust down and away from the operator’s compartment – especially important while driving in reverse
