What You Will Learn

The session will explain the current state of the RFID market and explore the future, offering a couple of visions of the future of the IDENTIFICATION of Things with focus on the role of labels and integrated smart packaging. This will be done by looking at several possible applications and the technologies required to make these happen. These labels will be the elementary source of big data for the Internet of Things. More simply put, in the near future, successful systems that provide quality actionable intelligence will be built on high-quality data sources, namely smart labels with a need for next generation data protection capabilities (minimizing the risks associate with garbage-in, garbage-out).

Key Takeaways

• Introduction to passive RFID technologies and how RFID is used today. This will include a brief summary of the RFID market today (6 Billion Units), the maturity of the technology and its delivery mechanism.
• Explore the near future and the increasing importance of quality data, sourced from smart RFID lables
